The department came into existence in the year 1970. 'Mathematical News Letter' is the journal subscribed by the department. The department library has 656 UGC books. The department has the computer of its own. The department member has attended the workshop conducted by MIT Anna University in 2000. The department has conducted intercollegiate contests, seminars, workshops and quiz.
