"Cool Your Heels"
SMRTI denotes memory. This annual inter-collegiate fiesta leaves pleasant
memories in the souls of vaishnav every year. This 3-day cultural programme,
which is a tribute to our founder chairman Sri. Nanalal Bhatt and his beloved
wife Smt.Devkunvar Nanalal Bhatt serves as a window through which the
unparalleled excellence of the students reach the outer skies vibrantly, in
various disciplines of fine arts and games
This year the most awaited and colorful festival SMRTI - COOL YOUR HEELS was
inaugurated by a couple of eminent personalities Sri. S.P.B.Charan renounced
playback singer and Sri Venkat Prabhu film artiste graced the occasion with
their dignified presence with great zeal, these two precious personalities
delivered some of the hit songs amidst a few thousand students, who were
gathered in the auditorium. They set up a vibrant atmosphere and a services of
competitions were conducted viz. classical dance, carnatic music, group song,
group dance, shipwreck, adzap, Rangoli, Bridal makeup, Tamil and English
oratory, Hindi quiz, Gita recitation. Eminent and famous personalities from
different walks of life, were present to judge the winners.
An active and overwhelming response was observed from as many as 35 colleges
and the participants gleamed with a healthy competitive spirit. The winners
were honoured with cash awards and certificates. The valedictory function was
graced with the presence of Shrimathy Malathy renowned playback singer. A spark
of excitement and contentment was seen in every ones eyes. All over, it was a
gala day for the students.
In a nutshell, SMRTI 2007 enthralled the audience with lasting memories and was
a great success.
