Union Activities

As a part of Anti ragging campaign, all the students of our colleges have given a declaration in support of Anti-Ragging.Sri.V.Nandakumar,IRS, inaugurated the College union activities on 6th July 2009. He enunciated the importance of women’s education and today’s world education is not confined to classroom studies and theoretical pursuits.

Fresher’s day was celebrated on 3rd July 2009 with great aplomb wherein seniors extended a traditional welcome to the entrants. On this occasion freshers exhibited their creative, literary and historic talents to their seniors. The spiritual life of students is taken care of through various religious programmes. The College union celebrated Krishna Jayanthi, Saraswathi Pooja and other religious festival with great spirituality.

Citizen Consumer Club was inaugurated in our college on 23rd July 2009 by Mr.P.Raghunathan, Advocate, High Court and Ms. T.Vijayathilagam , Faculty, Dept of Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection. This club gives an enriching experience by welcoming staff and students to participate at various state-level programmes.

IAS coaching class was inaugurated on 23rd July 2009. To instill the patriotic fervor in the mind of young students Independence Day was celebrated. Students celebrated teachers’ day with great gratitude and reverence. Bharath Gyan Heritage club was inaugurated by Dr.Hari, Hindu Mission Hospital on 8/9/09. Founder’s day was celebrated with great exuberance. Dr.Sumithra , Principal presided over the function and shared the snippets of the philanthropic activities of our founder.

Humour club was inaugurated by Thiru.Pulavar.Ramalingam on 4/th December 2009 and he focused on the importance of humour and gave tips to inculcate a sense of humour in students. Rose day was celebrated at Jeevodaya, a hospice for cancer patients. Roses, sweets, new dresses and fruits were distributed to the inmates of the home. A special talk was organized on Life – Saving Techniques by Hindu Mission Hospital. 60th Republic day was celebrated with great zeal.

To commemorate Martyrs day nearly 90 students took part in the competition on Gandhi’s ‘Sathya Sodhanai’. Blood Donation camp was organized with the support of Hindu Mission Hospital. A puppet show was organized to bring awareness about child labour and abuse on 17/2/10.

The show was exhilarating and thought-provoking with plethora of social issues to our students. Ms.Sangamitra Amudha , Founder Sanmargha Foundation gave an inspiring talk on ‘Empowerment of Women’ to mark the International Women’s day and an array of competitions like Rangoli, Pati Mandram was conducted to showcase the innate talents of students. Mr.Rajkumar, Director, Sieger Communication, gave a special talk on ‘Life and Managerial Skill’ on 10th March 2010.
