Inauguration and one day seminar was held by the Environ club of SDNB Vaishnav College for Women, Chromepet, Chennai-44, on 21/9/17. The Club was inaugurated by Dr. R. Raveen, Associate Professor, Dept. of Zoology, MCC, Principal Dr. V. Varalakshmi, Vice Principal, Dr. Mangaiyarkarasi and Convenor, Dr. D. Lakshmi.
The esteemed Guest Dr. R. Raveen enlightened the Environ club students on E-waste sources, causes and impact.
One day workshop on Mushroom cultivation was held on 2/3/18 for our Environ club students. The students participated actively and learnt about the cultivation of Pleurotus and Button mushrooms. The Resource person was Dr. R. Shenbagaraman from S&R Agrobiotech who cultivates and exports mushrooms.
The second one day seminar was held by the Environ club 2017-18 on 5/3/18. There were two speakers invited for the club
Speaker 1: Dr. N. K. Udaya Pakash, Associate Professor, Vels University, Pallavaram, Chennai, enlightened the Environ club students on the topic “Environment as medicine”.
Speaker 2: Dr. B. Shankaran, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Botany, Presidency College, Chennai-5, spoke on “Aesthetic value of plants”.
