Chennai Flood Relief Activities

During flood indoor stadium was opened for around 300 families and food was served

The Management in association with Jain Jagruti Centre (JJC), Mumbai extended a helping hand to the students who were affected by the recent floods. A committee comprising of faculty members was formed to identify the student victims of the college and their gravity of suffering. The needs of the students were thoroughly studied and identified through a structured questionnaire in order to cater to their needs.

Relief materials and revival kits were distributed to about 1568 students who were severely affected in the floods. Many generous donors, supporters, alumnus, well-wishers and volunteers collaborated with the college in this significant cause by contributing through cash and kind. Further, the management also extended their support to the staff members (both teaching and non-teaching) who suffered material loss in the flood by providing financial aid and emotional support to overcome the distress.

The college organized Post-flood health Camp in association with Rotary Club of Madras South West and College NSS unit on 19th and 20th December 2015. A team of doctors were dynamically involved in screening and examining around 3000 college students. The camp was opened for the general public too. Medical consultations and medicines were given free of cost to prevent the epidemics of water-borne and air-borne illnesses.

About 1100 Books worth Rs. 3.5 lakhs were distributed to flood affected students under book bank scheme by the Management and Alumnae. Our Visual Communication Students made a short film on flood relief initiative by our College.
