Sports have been an integral part of curriculum at Vaishnav and the generous support of our Management for promoting sports activities by way of free accommodation and fee waivers has brought several laurels. This year we have 24 interzone,11 state,5 university,11 National and 1 international player who have won 3 Gold,5 silver and 3 bronze at State level; 3 Gold and 4 silver at National level; and I bronze at international level.
In consonance with the Golden Jubilee Celebrations Intercollegiate sports tournament in Chess, Table tennis, Basketball and Badminton were held in Indoor stadium on Feb 7 And 8.The intercollegiate athletic meet and our college Annual sports meet was held at the Nehru Stadium on 13th and 14th February 2019.Over 25 colleges took part in a plethora of track & field events! Mr Mahesh Aggarwal , IPS , Assistant commissioner of police , Law and Order , South presided over the inauguration and declared the athletic meet open . In his inaugural address he stressed the significance of women power and praised the students for their wonderful NCC drill, aerobic , and Silambam performance. The Valedictory was presided over by our prestigious Alumni Aarthie Ramaswamy, Woman Grandmaster. A grand ceremonial march past by all departments, a graceful aerobic dance and prize distribution marked the finale of the event. The overall Championship was won by MOP Vaishnav College and second place was won by SDNB VAISHNAV COLLEGE.
