NCC REPORT

Senior Cadet Captain M.Nila B.A. History 3rd year has scored 535/600 in All India Shooting Camp and has achieved minimum qualification score for GV Mavlankar Tournament(National level Competition)

S.D.N.B.V.College has 27 Airwing Cadets who are part of 1(TN) AIR SQN NCC. Cadet Senior Under Officer T.Swarna Latha of B.com C.S participated in the prestigious RAJPATH MARCHING CONTINGENT 2015 and she lead the Tamil Nadu , Puducherry & Andhaman Nicobar Directorate Senior Wing Drill Contingent as a Parade Commander . She was also the PLACARD HOLDER of Tamil Nadu, Puduchery & Andhaman Nicobar Directorate in the PRIME MINISTER RALLY 2015 ALL INDIA VAYU SAINIK CAMP was held at Bangalore in the month of October 2014. Two of our Cadets CWO R.Amutha Lakshmi of B.B.A and C/Cpl K.Gupta Devi of B.Sc (C.Sci) both represented Tamil Nadu Directorate as a FIRER and FLYER respectively.

S.D.N.B.Vaishnav College has 30 Naval Cadets who are part of 1(TN) NAVAL UNIT NCC. 5 of our II year Cadets participated in ALL INDIA NAU SAINIK CAMP 2014 representing Tamilnadu, Pondichery, Andaman & Nicobar Directorate and they won Overall Championship At National Level. Their Achievements Are As Follows:
1. M. Nila Of II History Won 1 Gold, 2 Silver, 2 Bronze.
2. J. Dharani Of II Statistics Won 1silver.
3. R.Deborah Of II BBA Won 1 Gold.
4. S. Swarnamalathi of II Bsc (Computer Sci.) Eve Won 1 Gold, 2 Silver.
5. B.Yogalakshmi Of II B.C.S Won 1 Gold.
In State Level Inter Unit Competitions; L.karthika of II English Won 1 Gold, 1 Silver All India Sailing Camp – Yatching Regetta was Conducted in Orissa. R. Saipooja Of II Stats Participated and performed as Sailor.

CADO WOOD 2015 – an inter collegiate competition for NCC cadets was conducted in Madras Christian College, Tambaram, Chennai on 27th &28th Feb 2015. NCC cadets of all three wings (army, air force, naval wings) from 17 colleges in and around Chennai city participated in this competition. NCC cadets (air wing & naval wing) of S.D.N.B. Vaishnav College participated in all the events and bagged many prizes and stood first. They were awarded Overall Banner and ‘Overall Trophy’ by the Principal of Madras Christian College.

A Grand function was organized at S.D.N.B.Vaishnav College on 5-2-2015 in order to felicitate the 1(TN) NAVAL UNIT NCC CADETS of Chennai who represented Tamil Nadu in the ALL INDIA NAU SAINIK CAMP 2014 and won OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP at National Level. Delegates and Cadets from Chennai Colleges participated in the gathering.

The Principal delivered the Welcome Address. The Secretary of this College, Shri Chandrakant M.Tolia graced the occasion by his august presence. A Power point Presentation about the accomplishments of the achievers was displayed. Mrs.Seema Agarwal, I.P.S, Inspector General of Police, Railways was the Chief Guest of the function. She rendered thought provoking speech and valuable guidance for Practical Life combined with social awareness.

Commander S.Murali, Commanding Officer, 1(TN) NAVAL UNIT, and Chennai was the Guest of Honour of the function. Shields were distributed to the Achievers by the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour. 18 NAVAL CADETS were honoured and five among them are from our S.D.N.B.Vaishnav College
