NSS ACTIVITIES

“Service to humanity is service to God”

           We are very glad to submit the NSS report of SDNB Vaishnav College for Women. Our NSS students are participated in social activities.

• NSS Inauguration on 23rd July 2014, Chief Guest Dr.G.Bhaskaran, NSS Co-ordinator, University of Madras.
• Blood Donation Camp conducted on 1st August 2014, 105 units of blood from voluntary blood donors. Lions Club & LLMRF Blood Bank. Guest Lions Club President (Central Madras) Mrs. Andal Rajaram & Lion S.N. Harinarayanan.
• “LET US CLEAN CHENNAI” ’Clean & Green Environment & Proper Recycling’on 3rd August 2014 Krishna Street, T.Nagar, Chennai 600 017.Guest Mayor 0f Chennai,Saidai S.Duraisamy, Honorable Minister for Health.Thiru Dr. C.Vijayabaskar, Honorable Justice Thiru T.N.Vallinayagam.
• Our Prime Minister Scheme SWATCH BHARATH Special Cleanliness Campaign on Gandhi Jayanthi Divas on 2nd October 2014, Chromepet Railway Station, & Temple cleaning (GANESH) our College Campus.
• ROTARY CLUB conducted “MY FLAG MY INDIA” on 7th December, 2014 at YMCA Ground Nandanam, Chennai. Guinness World Record 50,000 Passionate Indians to form the National flag & create history. Our college NSS students participated.
• “CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION” Award for our college. Best performance in Youth Red Cross movement for the year 2013-14, held at University of Madras, Chennai on 6th January, 2015. Chief guest Prof.R.Thandvan, Vice Chancellor, University of Madras.
• Cancer Awareness Rally conducted on 4th February, 2015 around the college and inner circle of Chromepet Area distributed Pamphlets about Cancer. Our College Principal Dr.G.Rani & Dr.P.D.Gupta, Professor of Manipal University, started the Rally in the college premises.
• Mrs.Seema Agarwal,IPS Railways our students Track Services at Chromepet Railway Station & College gate 9th February, 2015 onwards.
• One day RRC PEER EDUCATOR TRAINING PROGRAMME conducted on 18th February,2015. Nearly 30 colleges participated in and around Kancheepuram District, Guest Dr.G.Bhaskaran,NSS Co-ordinator, University of Madras,Mr.B.Karthick, Asst.Director (Youth Affairs) TANSACS,(Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Socity) Mr.Kathiravan,lecture on Celebrity of life,Dr.RajaManikam,IRCs, First Aid.
• Mylapore Thiruvallur Tamil Sangam & University of Madras NSS conducted a Thirukural Programme on 20th February, 2015 in our college campus.Title:ALUMAI VALARCHIKU THIRUKURAL AMUDA MOZHI, Guest Kalaimamani Dr.Cheyon, Former Director of All India Radio. (AIR).
• Public health department H1N1 Virus awareness programme conducted on 11.3.2015

The Nss unit of S.D.N.B VAISHNAV COLLEGE FOR WOMEN organized Camp for Nss students from 23/3/2015 to 29/3/2015 at Thondamanallur village, cheyyur taluk, kanchipuram dist Mathuranthagam. Both the students from Shift –I and Shift – II were included for the camp which includes 100 students. Following are the highlight programmes carried out in the camp on each day with the help of NSS Volunteers and Volunteers of the Community. They are as follows.

• Inauguration – Village President – K. Marimuthu
• Cleaning the village and school
• Inauguration and sponsoring of Physical education Equipments for Village community and School.
• Programmes for women to enhance their abilities such as time management and group co-ordination ( rangoli competitions)
• Programmes were conducted for School Children for Child welfare and talent management Various events were organized for school children
• Apart from the above students with extra-ordinary talents were also awarded.
• School children were given uniform clothes to enhance the importance of coming to school.
• Short film was telecasted to teach about good and bad touch to prevent sexual abuse and importance of child line are also highlighted.
• Trees were planted both in community and in school to highlight the importance of environmental protection.
• Cleaning of village tank was also done.
• Extra- ordinary talents of women were awarded to uplift them.
• The village president also enhanced the camp by appreciating the campers.
