College Union was inaugurated by Dr. KaruNagarajan, Member Secretary, State Council of Higher Education. He delivered the inaugural address on Women Empowerment in the present scenario.He awarded a cash prize of Rs.1000/ to Ms. Chamundeshwari, II B.Sc. Physics for her excellent Tamil Poem.

Mr.V.Nandakumar Veeramani, IRS, Deputy Commissioner of income tax graced the Orientation program. Principal enlightened the students and parents about the various opportunities available in our campus to enhance their academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular skills.

Fresher’s day was celebrated by the senior students to create a friendly relation between Juniors and Seniors. Mr.Ilango,Chairman of “ACE PANACEA” soft skill company Chennai conducted the communication skill for all the first years.

HINDUSTAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, conducted EDAP for students of S.D.N.B. Vaishnav College For Women. The chief guest, Dr N.R. Dave, President of Hindustan Chamber Of Commerce gave an inspiring speech on Women Entrepreneurship. Technical sessions were taken over by Mr.C.K. Kumaravelu, CEO and Co-founder of Naturals, Mr. Raghavan, Founder Of Amelio Child Care Private Limited and Mrs. Geetha Premkumar, Director of VectorIndojanix Private Limited, who created awareness among the students about various fundings available for women entrepreneurs.

Mr Ramesh Prabha, Chairman, Galaxy Institute of Management gave a motivational talk to all final year UG students to pursue higher studies.Free IAS Coaching classes were conducted for all SC/ST and Minortiy students in our campus. Mrs. K.Mallika, Head, Dept of Chemistry hoisted the flag and addressed the students. Dr.Smt.G.Rani, Principal, S.D.N.B.V.C. hoisted the flag and delivered the republic day address. She said “Unity in Diversity” is the Indian Mantra and highlighted the importance of patriotism in students.

Shri. Sundarama Dikshitar performed the pooja for Krishna Jayanthi celebration. He highlighted the Kali-Krishna avatar. Onam was celebrated in extravagant manner. Girls dressed up in onam saree and danced. College Chairman Smt. Mamta D. Bhatt, Principal Dr.(Mrs) G.Rani attended the onam celebration. The traditional tamil festival “PONGAL 2015 ” was celebrated in a traditional way. All the students dressed up in ethnic wear participated in the Samathuva Pongal festival.

On Teacher’s Day the students honoured their teachers and conducted many On stage and off stage Games. Principal, Dr.(Mrs.) G. Rani presented a power point on our Founder Chairman’s family and highlighted the multi talented ability. our Former Chairman Shri. S.N. Bhatt .Dr.(Mrs.) K. Pushkala highlighted the contributions of our Founder chairman.

5th National Voter’s Day was celebrated in our college premises with the theme “EASY REGISTRATION EASY CORRECTION”.“Rangoli and Essay writing” competitions were conducted to create awareness about the importance of voting.

World Habitat Day was celebrated to create awareness program on Health, Hygiene and Education for Gandhipuram slum dwellers. Rs. 50,000 was donated by the staff and students of S.D.N.B.V.C. for a noble cause of helping the needy children. The entire amount was distributed to thechild welfare organisations namely, Child care foundation, Udavum Ullangal and Karna Prayag Trust.

Students actively participated in the 10 days Karate crash course. They learnt special karate skills and performed a demonstration on the sports day. Our college students showered a overwhelming response to participate in the World Guinness Record: My Flag My India was organised by Rotary club. Around 1200 students participated and received the Guinness participation certificate.

College union organized college bazaar for popularizing self help group (SHG) products. There were 50 stalls of Handmade fabrics, crafts, jute bags, snacks, fancy jewellery and much more products. The 2 Days sale value reached Rs.1, 53,270. Our college celebrated International women's day. We had incredible speakers from various sector. The speakers were Smt. Bhamathiprakash, Managing director, Merill technology services India pvt.ltd. Chennai.Smt. Archana Raghuram, CSR –Head, CTS ,Chennai. Smt. Sarumathi Ramesh, Advocate.

Dr.Smt.V.Kanthimathi, Regional Joint Director of Collegiate Education, Chennai Delivered the valedictory address and distributed the certificates.
